چکیده
An innovative double-side welded rib-to-deck (RTD) joint has been developed recently to enhance fatigue performance of orthotropic steel decks (OSDs) in bridges. The welding residual stresses (WRS) will lead reduction resistance RTD joints It is essential study WRS and its distribution estimate the accurately. To investigate caused by process, experimental tests on four specimens were carried out means longitudinal critical refraction (LCR) wave method. A sequentially coupled three-dimensional thermo-mechanical finite element (FE) analysis model was established simulate it validated results investigation. Then, effects parameters geometric configuration are analyzed numerical simulation. show a reasonable agreement between simulation data. at surface weld seam plate components strongly affected speed, but comparatively weakly depends penetration rate, assembly gap deck thickness.

all the producing and assembling processes exert residual stress on the pieces that may lead to structural failure. therefore, calculating the residual stress in such structures has been common in recent years. in this article, distribution of temperature and residual stress resulting from arc welding in three-pass butt joint in p91 austenitic stainless steel pipes is calculated and estimated u...
متن کاملStatistical Analysis of Stress Signals from Bridge Monitoring by FBG System
In this paper, a fiber Bragg grating (FBG)-based stress monitoring system instrumented on an orthotropic steel deck arch bridge is demonstrated. The FBG sensors are installed at two types of critical fatigue-prone welded joints to measure the strain and temperature signals. A total of 64 FBG sensors are deployed around the rib-to-deck and rib-to-diagram areas at the mid-span and quarter-span of...
متن کاملControl of Welding Residual Stress for Dissimilar Laser Welded Materials
The most common problem of welding dissimilar metals (DMWs) with respect to residual stresses is the differences in the coefficient of thermal expansion and heat conductivity of the two welded metals. In the present work, a CO2 continuous laser welding process was successfully applied and optimized for joining a dissimilar AISI 316 stainless steel and low carbon steel plates. The Taguchi approa...
